Clarksburg, W.Va. (AP) -- A statewide effort to convert residential mailing addresses to physical addresses is about 85 percent complete.

The goal of the addressing and mapping project is to improve emergency response times.

Statewide addressing and mapping board chairman Jimmy Gianato says counties are adding new information and updating existing information daily.

But Gianato says the project won't ever be 100 percent complete because of people moving, new homes being built and other factors.
