Beckley, W.Va. (AP) -- Raleigh General Hospital CEO Karen Bowling has been elected chairwoman of the West Virginia Hospital Association.
WVHA president Joe Letnaunchyn said bowling has led raleigh general through significant changes that resulted in improved services.
The 52-year-old woman also has helped the association increase hospital participation, raise awareness of its political action committee and work with candidates it supports.
Bowling said she hopes to continue to advocate on behalf of the state hospitals.
The West Virginia natives hope to help them understand health care reform and how it affects them.
