Whether you're a Yankees fan or not, many are planning to tune into Wednesday night's game one of the World Series to watch Parkersburg's own Nick Swisher.

Swisher graduated from Parkersburg High in 1999. He then went on to play baseball for Ohio State, the Oakland A's, the Chicago White Sox and his current team, the New York Yankees.

Wednesday night could be Swisher's biggest game yet, and his fans here in the Mid-Ohio Valley will no doubt be cheering him on.

"Here's this kid from little Parkersburg West Virginia right there in the limelight. It shows anyone can do it," Alan Burns, Swisher's high school baseball coach, said.

"Very excited about it, and I'm so excited for him. He's such a nice young man," Linda Howard, a Swisher fan, said.

You can catch the game on our Fox Parkersburg station beginning at 7:57 p.m.
