Cincinnati (AP) -- A federal grand jury in southwest Ohio has indicted a former republican state representative on charges involving mail fraud and filing false income tax returns.
The indictment announced Thursday alleges that Michael A. Fox, also a former Butler County commissioner, conspired with a central Ohio attorney to improperly benefit from county contracts.
The indictment also alleges the men failed to report the income on federal income tax returns.
Fox and Robert C. Schuler of Dublin are each charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and filing a false income tax return.
Fox also faces four mail fraud counts, and schuler faces one perjury count.
Schuler's attorney Kevin Conners says schuler is presumed innocent.
A message was left at a hamilton listing for a M. Fox.
