Car Accident on State Route 50

A mother and son are out of the hospital Monday morning after an accident on US Route 50 Sunday.

Deputies with the Wood County Sheriff's Department say the accident happened around 9 pm Sunday on Route 50 near Mountwood Park.

Officials say 22-year-old Katana Maxwell was driving in the passing lane when a car pulled out in front of her. Maxwell swerved to miss the car and her vehicle flipped into the median.

Both Maxwell and her two-year-old son were treated and released from Camden Clark Memorial Hospital.

The accident remains under investigation.


An accident that happened on State Route 50 near Mountwood Park caused a mother and son to be taken to the hospital on Sunday evening.

Maxwell and her two-year-old son Gavin Maxwell are receiving treatment at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

The accident is still under investigation.
