UPDATE: 6/11/10 5:45PM

A Charleston man is in the hospital after a tractor trailer hit his parked vehicle on Interstate 77 early Friday morning.

It all started with reports of a vehicle parked in the north bound lane with its lights off.

Before the west Virginia State Police could reach the jeep it was hit by a tractor trailer from behind.

The accident happened close to the Jackson County line, in Rockport, around 1:30 Friday morning and closed the north bound lane for about two hours.

State police say 27-year-old Chad Cooper was in the jeep at the time and it's still unclear as to why the jeep was parked on the highway.

Cooper reportedly suffered a concussion, broken shoulder and a minor visible injury but no internal injuries.

The driver of the truck, 37-year old Stewart Kincaid, of Kentucky was treated on scene.
