UPDATE 10/16/2013 4:51 PM

A train hit a semi-truck Wednesday on Route 7 just outside Marietta, closing the highway for two hours.

It all happened at the crossing at Moore's Junction, sending the truck driver to the hospital

A witness says he was sitting in his truck and saw it all happen.

He says the driver had just unloaded his truck and started driving across the tracks even though the train was coming.

The witness says the barricades were down and he heard the train coming.

He looked to his right and said the driver wasn't stopping or speeding up.

Officials say when the train and the semi-truck collided, the semi-truck was dragged into a shed, hit propane tanks and got stuck between the train and a storage facility.

Warren Volunteer Firefighters say when they arrived on scene there were several gallons of diesel fuel leaking from the truck and propane from the tanks that were hit.

The witness says it happened before he could react.

Officials say the driver was taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital with lacerations to the head, but he was conscious.

The track was cleared around 2:15 Wednesday afternoon and Route 7 was re-opened.

The propane tanks were then taken away safely and the semi-truck was towed away.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office and Ohio State Highway Patrol were on scene.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating.
