Saturday was International Flag Day.
A holiday that holds special meaning for those who serve the country.
When a flag is no longer useful, tattered or old it has to be disposed of properly, which is done by burning.
That's what American Legion members did Saturday.
And they say it's an important symbol to these war heroes.
The legion collects flags throughut the year for this event.
They soak the flags in kerosene and say a prayer before burning them.
If you missed out, the legion accepts flags year round.
They're also putting on the fireworks show at City Park on July 4th.
