UPDATE: Bank Robber Sentenced to Four Years Behind Bars

A man is sentenced in Athens after prosecutors say he robbed a bank.

Emmanuel Arocho is sentenced to four years in prison.

Prosecutors say in July, the 31-year-old went into the Peoples Bank in Athens and handed the teller a note, telling her to give him money and not activate the alarm.

Investigators say he was not armed but did leave with over $3,000.

Shortly after, Arocho turned himself in to Athens Police.

He was charged with robbery.

Emmanuel Arocho was indicted Monday for one count of robbery.

On Saturday, he turned himself in to Athens Police for robbing the People's Bank.

It happened last Monday. Police say he demanded money from a teller and got away with more than $3,000.

Arraignment is set for July 24th. He's in the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail.

The suspect wanted in an Athens bank robbery has been arrested.

Emmanuel Arocho turned himself into Athens Police early Saturday morning. Police say he had a warrant for robbing the People's Bank in Athens.

The robbery happened Monday. Police say Arocho told a teller he wanted cash, then left with that cash. It's unknown how much he got away with.

He's in jail and scheduled to appear in court on Monday morning.

A bank robbery in Athens all caught on surveillance camera.

The Athens Police Department says it all happened Monday at 3:37 PM at the Peoples Bank on East State Street.

Investigators say a man entered the bank, told the teller he wanted cash, then left after getting an undisclosed amount of money.

Witnesses did not see a weapon but police say there still may have been on present.

Police say the suspect is a white man, six foot tall, 200 lbs., with brown hair and facial hair.
