UPDATE: Authorities Continue Searching for Suspect in Ripley Bank Robbery

The search continues for a man accused of robbing a Ripley bank.

It happened around 11 Thursday morning at Premier Bank on Church Street in Ripley.

Police say the suspect is a white man dressed in black clothing, wearing a black motorcycle helmet, carrying a tan bag and armed with a handgun.

Police used a helicopter to search for him after they got a tip he was seen Friday morning near Cedar Lakes Drive.

Cedar Lakes and four Jackson County schools were put on lock down.


Authorities are searching for the suspect in a Ripley bank robbery.

West Virginia State Police say it happened at 11:20 Thursday morning at Premier Bank on Church Street in Ripley.

They say the suspect is a white man dressed in black clothing, wearing a black motorcycle helmet, carrying a tan bag and armed with a handgun.

They say the suspect was last seen traveling on foot south on Mill Creek.

Ripley Police say State Route 21 south was shut down, and so were portions of Cedar Lakes Drive.
