Belpre Police are turning their case over to the Washington County Prosecuting Attorney, after a local man was seriously injured during a stabbing on Thanksgiving.
It happened outside of a house on Elm street, around 5:15 Thursday night.
Belpre Police say resident 33-year-old Mark Hinton was taken to Camden Clark Medical Center in serious condition with two stab wounds.
He was listed in stable condition Friday.
Police won't comment on any suspects in the case, but they do say the victim's mother, 65-year-old Carolyn Hinton, also received medical attention.
She's since been released from the hospital.
The department will hear from the county prosecuting attorney Monday on how to pursue the investigation.
