A silver lining for a Ravenswood man battling stage four lung cancer.
While doctors offered little hope, Randy Williams' community won't give up.
Family and friends decided to do what they could to help the family.
Sunday the whole town came out for a silent auction and barbeque.
More than 150 people donated money.
They say it was a heart warming experience to be a part of.
"The only way to describe it is feeling overwhelmingly blessed. I feel humbled to see this turnout and how many people were here," says Katie Speece, organizer of the benefit.
"It feels great to see everybody get out and get together. You gotta keep the faith. You can't give up," says Randy Williams.
Williams' last wish had been a to take a family portrait.
He got his wish and then some.
The benefit at River Front Park raised over $1,000.
