What can you accomplish in 48 hours? If you're part of a Habitat for Humanity Blitz Build- you can start to build a new home.

A crew of dedicated volunteers and the Habitat team paired up to build Wood County's 63rd Habitat for Humanity house this weekend. The Blitz Build coincides with Habitat for Humanity's 25th Anniversary celebration in West Virginia.

Friday's rain forced work inside other Habitat homes in the area. Saturday, the sun was shinning and work on the newest home was underway. Gwen Miles says with a lot of work the volunteers have made an immense amount of progress.

"Habitat for Humanity is a volunteer based organization" Miles says. "I'm the volunteer coordinator so, of course, I'm going to say that without the volunteers- we wouldn't have any houses in Wood County built for Habitat for Humanity. The volunteers have done it for us."

Habitat for Humanity of West Virginia will be building 25 new themed homes to commemorate their 25th year in the Mountain State. The home being built in the Blitz Build is themed 'The World of Hope Home.'
