Twelve high school teams came in from all over the state for the West Virginia state softball tournament.
This means about 1,000 extra people in town were in town, visiting local businesses.
Local busniesses like Shorty's Pizza say they welcome the extra mouths to feed.
"Business out on the patio's been great - as long as the weather's good this place is always full," says Shawn "Shorty" Dugan. "I try to get outside as much as possible and talk to as many people as possible, see how they heard of us, where they're coming from. And yeah, a lot of out of towners this week."
Shorty's Pizza is not alone.
The staff at the Green Kiwi also says they've seen a boost in sales since the tournament began.
The softball tournament is over but busniesses say they look forward to more summer tourism.
