It's an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults.
Casey Higgins, 26, has struggled with Cystic Fibrosis since she was three months old and is now in urgent need of a double lung transplant.
Her aunt, Rhena Westbrook gets emotional and says it's been very hard seeing her niece deal with this disease.
“To see her go through this and coughing,” she says. “It's important to get awareness out for organ donation plus CF, along with fund raising for Casey Jo on her journey.”
People with CF inherit a defective gene that causes a buildup of thick mucus in the lungs, pancreas and other organs and leads to life-threatening lung infections.
Westbrook says she's thankful to friends, family and the community for their help and generosity.
They'll be at the Bob Evans in the traffic circle 'til 10 tonight if you want to stop by to offer support and donate.
