They made off with copper, as much as they could get their hands on -- and now the Parkersburg Police Department needs your help to catch them.
According to Detective Decker Moody, during the early morning hours of June 6 two white males entered the locked R & J Recycling Center on 19th Street and Garfield Avenue and stole about 100 pounds of copper worth $300.
The suspects were recorded on video surveillance at the business.
If you recognize one or both of the suspects in the video here, call the Parkersburg Police at 304-424-8444.
“We have reason to believe that it's someone familiar with the business, someone that knows the workings of the business because they were pretty comfortable moving about the inside of the facility,” Moody says. “They're stealing this to resell for money.”
Moody says hopefully the public will be able to help identify the suspects from the pictures and call them with that information.
He says they're fighting hard to combat the increasing drug problem in the area, which also increases other crimes, including theft.
