CHARLESTON, W.V. (AP) - The state Division of Culture and History has set the dates for next year's History Bowl competitions.
Eight regional contests that test eighth graders' knowledge of West Virginia's history, literature, art and geography are scheduled between Feb. 3 and March 24. The regional contests involve four-person teams in double-elimination tournament play.
The winning team and the runner-up from each regional will compete on April 24 in the third annual state championship held at the state Culture Center in Charleston.
Questions used in the competition are compiled by staff members of the division's Archives and History Section.
