It's less than a year old, but the bridge on route 14 at Mineral Wells has a new name.
The family of long-time West Virginia Delegate Larry Border gathered on the bridge Friday, as it was named in Border's honor.
Among those on hand was Anna Border Sheppard, who succeeded her late husband in the legislature.
She says Border was committed not only to building the bridge, but to improving the roadway.
"His hope was, and my hope is as well," she said after the ceremony, "that this will open up traffic and improve the climate for businesses and residents to get to and from Wirt County."
Larry Border served Wood and Wirt counties in the legislature for 21 years, until his death two years ago at the age of 60.
