Five people arrested on heroin charges.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office says the Major Crimes Task Force arrests Gary McFadden II, Miriam Sergent, Robert Becker Junior, John Pugh, and Brian Streight.
McFadden faces resisting arrest, three counts of trafficking drugs, and two counts of possession of drugs.
Sergent faces charges of possession of drugs and complicity of trafficking in drugs.
Becker is arrested for trafficking drugs.
Pugh is arrested with possession of drugs.
Streight is arrested for two counts of possession of drugs, heroin and meth.
All five were arrested following the execution of search warrants Thursday night.
The warrants were executed at the homes of McFadden on South Fifth Street and Becker and Sergent on Meigs Street.
The sheriff's office says a confidential informant bought ten dosage units of heroin from these people within 280 feet of property owned by the Marietta School District.
Streight's arrest stems from a February 28 incident wherein items used in the trafficking and consumption of illegal narcotics were found at his home on South Sixth Street in Marietta.
All five are in the Washington County Jail.
