Help your favorite school win money by shopping at the Grand Central Mall, in the Earning for Learning program.
Marketing Director Katrina Stephens says the program is in its ninth year and something she's very proud of.
Valley schools K-12 are encouraged to show their receipts at Guest Services and mention the school they support.
Points are logged and after five weeks the mall gives away $16,000 to the schools based on receipts and shopping habits.
“The ultimate goal with Earning for Learning is to be able to give those cash prizes back to the schools that support us,” Stephens says. “We certainly would not be here, we wouldn't be in this community for 40 years if it wasn't for our local shoppers; and one of the things that we're most passionate about is education.”
According to Stephens, the first week of the program was already a huge success.
Seventy-seven schools from across West Virginia and Ohio earned 67,000 points.
You can still turn in receipts through September 21.
