A Wood County family lost their home to a fire Sunday afternoon.
The house burned to the ground.
It happened in Lubeck on Beechwood Drive off of Pettyville Road.
A woman who lived in the house says the fire started in the basement, but she doesn't know how.
Fortunately the couple and their children were unharmed.
The hilltop location and the snowfall created some major problems for Lubeck fire.
They had to abandon a pair of their fire trucks Sunday.
The trucks were still there Monday afternoon.
"Looking for some help from some local wrecker companies to come and get us out, that's where we're at right now," says Lubeck Fire Lt. Dustin Swartzmiller. "I've been here 7 years and I would say this is definitely the most difficult scene, structure fire scene that I've had."
The family is staying with the woman's mother.
She lives right next door.
The investigation is now in the hands of Wood County fire investigators.

The Lubeck Fire Department says the house is a total loss, but fortunately a man and his children escaped unharmed.
