4th of July Around the Mid-Ohio Valley

Celebrating all over the valley and throughout the week, with a carnival at Parkersburg City Park.

"The fireworks are at City Park of course they are sponsored by the American Legion in conjunction with the carnival, and we always have a big crowd out there on 4th of July," said Parkersburg Mayor Bob Newell.

The fireworks are at 10 PM, Friday night.
Kids fest is at City Park on Saturday, with lots of games and fun for everyone.

"It's just an event that's designed for anybody, no matter what social class you are. To come and we just want to put smiles on kids faces," said Jordan Davis, Children's Pastor, Liberty Street.

Over in Marietta, The Red White and Blues Festival at the Lafayette starts at 6 PM. Plus events throughout the day.

"Also at the Washington County Fair grounds, from 10 AM to 10 PM, there is going to be activities for kids, inflatables. There is going to be a demolition derby and the night will be capped off with fireworks at 10 PM," said Christian Hudspeth, PR and Social Media Coordinator for the Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Down in Ripley, WV the largest small town 4th of July celebration. The parade kicks off at 12 PM and carnival runs throughout the weekend.

Plus, at Cedar Lakes, the 51st Annual Mountain State Arts and Crafts Fair, goes on through Saturday, with lots of new events this year.

"We have West Virginia University in here to present us a S.T.E.M. or science, engineering, technology and mathematics activities for kids. We have stunt kite demonstrations, we have civil war encampments," said Travis Cullen, M.S.A.C.E. Official.

Family fun and lots of options this holiday weekend.
