Some people in the Beverly area are evacuated after a gas leak.
The leak was reported to the Washington County Sheriff's Office around 1:30 Monday afternoon.
It happened on Stony Run Road off State Route 339, 1.5 miles north of Beverly.
Sheriff Larry Mincks said neighbors complained of the ground rumbling and the gas company told them to evacuate.
A portion of State Route 339 was shut down for an hour as a result of the leak.
Firefighters and the Columbia gas company responded and shut off the line, although it's not clear at this time who the line actually belongs to.
The area was declared safe around 2:30 p.m. and the leak is under investigation.
