An accident on the interstate sends six people to the hospital and the stretch of road where it happened was shut down for six hours.
According to the Jackson County Communications Center, a car and a semi-truck were involved in an accident just after 11 last night.
It happened at the Ravenswood exit in the southbound lane on Interstate 77.
That area remained shut down until about 5:30 this morning.
The truck flipped on its side, causing diesel fuel to spill into the median.
The communications center says the driver of the semi-truck and five people from the car were taken to the hospital with what appeared to be non life threatening injuries.
The accident is under investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.
