People are hitting the road for one last summer adventure, and many are stopping at the West Virginia Welcome Center in Williamstown.

"I’m going to a family wedding down in Kentucky; my boyfriend's cousin is getting married and we're going to go have a great time,” says Leslie Yakubowski, of Canton, Ohio.

Jeremy Nadjem is taking the opportunity to see the country.

"We’re passing through,” the Cleveland resident says. “We're actually going to Clearwater, Florida (for) the beach and the sun."

Brittany Marsh of Charleston is cherishing quality time.

"I’m planning on visiting with some family in Westlake, Ohio, so we just thought about stopping by, taking a break, stretching our legs,” she says.

The consensus is in -- from near and far they're all going for rest, relaxation and family.

"We want to discover new states actually 'cause it's one of our goals to visit as many states as we can,” Nadjem says.

She'll make the most of a Labor Day tradition.

"Always the barbecue, lots of food,” Marsh says.

It's a four-hour journey of inspiring surroundings.

"Enjoy the scenery. I always love this route, the mountains are gorgeous,” Marsh says, adding, “and going with the best friend and the little sister, times are great."

Wherever their travels may take them, one thing is certain; it’s a time to soak up the remaining days of summer.
