Parkersburg native, Jeremy Dunlap, brought his "Signatures of Virtue" book tour to town this afternoon.
Dunlap's book, "Danny: The Virtues Within" tells the story of Colorado Navy Seal Danny Dietz and Operation Red Wing during the war in Afghanistan.
The author was joined by Danny's parents, Cindy and Dan, at the V.F.W. on Garfield Avenue.
Dozens of people joined the group for lunch and book signings.
Dunlap asked that veterans, active military members and their families sign his book first.
His goal: to have a book about the virtues of an American hero, filled with signatures of virtue.
"It's absolutely special. It's beyond words to have the Dietz Family with me and to be in my hometown and to be honoring Danny. But also to be honoring Nick Null our own local hero and the sacrifices they gave for our freedom. It's just a humbling moment for myself", says Dunlap.
The proceeds from lunch will benefit the Nick Null Foundation.
The Wood County soldier died three years ago during combat in Afghanistan.
Danny Dietz is featured in the movie "Lone Survivor".
