One of the Mid-Ohio Valley's very own will be serving as part of the West Virginia Women's Commission.
Governor Early Ray Tomblin appoints Williamstown Mayor Jean Ford to serve on the commission along with two others. These three will be part of a ten-member commission promotes the status and empowerment of all West Virginia women.
Governor Tomblin says it's about advocacy, research, and education.
Mayor Ford says she is honored and privileged to have the opportunity and as the only government official on the commission, she hopes to bring an enlightening perspective to the table.
Barbara Early Kyle of Daniels and Kathleen McDermott of Wheeling will also be serving.
