New updates tonight in an attempted bank robbery today in Marietta.
Authorities say, the same man successfully robbed a bank later this afternoon in Athens.
Marietta Police say around 1 P.M., the suspect entered the Peoples Bank Administration building, showed a gun and demanded money.
When they told him there was none here, he walked away.
Around 3 P.M. in Athens, police confirmed a successful bank robbery at JP Morgan Chase Bank on East State Street
Police say the surveillance footage from Chase Bank confirms that this is the same man.
Police are not releasing at this time how much money was taken at Chase Bank in Athens, pending the investigation.
Police say no one was hurt.
The suspect is still on the loose.
Marietta Police are looking for a suspect with a gun for an attempted robbery at the Peoples Bank administration building on Monday.
Police say a male suspect walked into the building on Scammel St. and showed a gun and demanded money.
Employees told the suspect there was no money in the facility because it is an administration building. The suspect then left the building and walked down the alley across from the building.
Police say the suspect is a white man in his 40's. He's 5'8" and wearing a blue ball cap, sunglasses, black long sleeve t-shirt and blue jeans.
