Malicious Assault Trial Begins

Trial began Wednesday in St. Marys for a man accused of malicious assault.

A jury was seated in the trial of Ronald Lee Murner.

Assistant Pleasants County Prosecutor Paul Marteney says Murner is accused of striking a man with a rubber mallet.

The victim suffered a fractured skull and required a plate be installed in his head.

The trial is set to continue Thursday in Pleasants County Circuit Court.
