A six month investigation into arson and insurance fraud ends with an arrest Wednesday night.
One man is behind bars and the investigation continues.
The fire took place back in July of 2013 at 207 Main Street in Lowell.
The state fire marshal and the Washington County Sheriff's Office investigation concluded that it was in fact arson.
Jeffery Dowler was arrested Wednesday night in Parkersburg.
He is the owner of the home.
Previously he had reported a claim for water damage.
Upon investigation officials say there was no water damage.
Then later he admitted to officials he had committed insurance fraud.
"We followed up on that claim, which he was paid, I believe $28,000, and as a result of that we were able to determine that the construction was never done," says Sheriff Larry Mincks.
Dowler remains at the North Central Regional Jail pending his extradition to Washington County.
The arson aspect of this case remains under investigation.
