If you're out and about this weekend you may run into Marietta Shriners.

You'll see those fez hats first.

Members will be out on the streets and shopping plazas to help fund Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Marietta Mayor Joe Matthews kicked off the annual drive with a proclamation from the city.

The 22 hospitals in the U.S. are free for the kids they help.

They do advanced procedures like cleft-pallets and bone surgery.

Members say it's amazing to give kids a better chance at life.

"The kids are the future of this country. And we have to watch over and take care of our kids," says Jim Doak

The Shriners have been around since the 1920s.

And these members say it's a great group to be a part of.

Shriners Hospitals helps thousands of kids who could never afford the treatments they so desperately need.
