A lot of renovations happening in Marietta this summer and all of it being done without any cost to the tax payer.
Dog owners can look forward to a new dog park. Hoping to be finished within the month, volunteers and donations are fixing up the old Jackson Hill Park.
Surrounding the park are bike and walking trials.
"When dogs have a chance to run off leash and socialize with other dogs they are less aggressive and more friendly. It also gets them out of the parks where people are so it's just a good thing for both dogs and humans," explains Marietta Councilmen at large, Harley Noland.
Also new, Harmer Boat Dock has just opened at the end of Maple Street, by the old railroad bridge. The dock is open to the community.
The Marietta Rowing and Cycling club are fixing up the former log master's house on Front Street. After reconstruction, the building will become their headquarters. They will be having wood boat building classes throughout the summer.
