Since 2005, WTAP has awarded one graduating high school senior in the area the Glenn Wilson Memorial Scholarship. This years winner is Matthew Dunbar from Fort Frye High School.

This broadcast journalism award is in the name of the longtime WTAP newsman and weather presenter , Glenn Wilson.

The award is given by WTAP's own general manager, Roger Sheppard, Wilson's daughter, Pam Farr and granddaughter Kaitlyn.

Dunbar says he hopes to follow in Anderson Cooper's footsteps making an impact both here and in other nations. "Over the years I've noticed the impact journalism can have abroad with reporting and in other countries and such, I just really want to make a difference," says Dunbar.

Dunbar will be attending Bowling Green in the fall, majoring in broadcast journalism

This is the first year a Fort Frye student has won this award.
