A man arrested in a meth lab bust in November faced a judge for sentencing Monday.

Police say Michael Butcher had a meth lab at a home on Kemper Street in Parkersburg.

Butcher was sentenced Monday to one to five years for attempting to operate a clandestine drug lab, with credit for 219 days.

However, his sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for three years.

Facing one to 5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

One man pleads guilty.

According to Wood County prosecutors Michael Butcher pleaded guilty to conspiracy to operate a meth lab.

His change of plea was granted by Judge Waters.

Butcher was arrested in November 2013 after police found a meth lab at a home on Kemper Street.

His sentencing is set for June.


Authorities bust another local meth lab.

It happened on Kemper Street around 6:30 Saturday night.

59-year-old Michael Butcher and 36-year-old Dennis Crockett have been arrested following a complaint of strong chemical odors coming from a Parkersburg house.

Parkersburg Police say Butcher gave his consent to allow officers to search the home.

That's when police say they located parts of a meth lab in the basement.

Officers later found Crockett hiding in the attic of the home.

He was wanted on a felony warrant related to a another meth lab bust in august.

The Parkersburg Task Force assisted police with their investigation.

Butcher is charged with operating or attempting to operate a clandestine lab.

Crockett is charged with another count of attempting to operate a meth lab.

The pair could face up to ten years in prison.

This latest bust makes 33 for the year for the Parkersburg Task Force.
