More Truck Traffic on Route 50 Raises Concerns

More trucks, more cars, more traffic on Route 50.

With many intersections on that road, West Virginia State Police say people need to always be watching.

Oil and gas is bringing more trucks into the area and trucks take a long while to stop.

Whether it's human error and mechanical failure in car accidents, Senator Donna Boley says safety is key and the roads need to be looked at.

"Just ask the department of highways in Charleston to do a traffic safety study and see what they come up with," she says. "If it's the speed limit, or if it's you know maybe they need some stop lights at some of those intersections."

People are going to have to get use to the traffic, especially the truck traffic.

If you're at an intersection sometimes people pull out thinking they can make it, which is not a good idea.
