Taking a look as the last nails are driven in.
West Virginia's Commissioner of Agriculture visits the nearly-finished new location of the farmers market.
Commissioner Walt Helmick was given a tour of the building by Parkersburg Mayor Bob Newell.
He hopes it will make the farmers market a destination not only for people seeking out fresh produce, but for West Virginia farmers willing to sell it.
"We're trying to put together a program statewide, and to do that, we have to look at certain localities," Commissioner Helmick says. "There is a significant opportunity for growers in West Virginia; it's a good agricultural area."
The enclosed building is set for dedication Saturday morning at 10:00.
Eventually, it will house vendors throughout the work week.
