HUNTINGTON, W.V. (AP) - Amazon.com has opened a new 70,000-square-foot customer service center in Huntington that state officials say will create more than 200 full-time jobs.

Gov.-elect Earl Ray Tomblin, the West Virginia Development Office and Huntington city officials attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Kinetic Park on Friday.

The center replaces Amazon's current downtown Huntington facility and will support customer calls and emails from around the world. It's expected to employ 499 full-time workers by the end of 2014.

The Seattle-based Fortune 500 company debuted on the Internet in July 1995. U.S. Sen. Jay Rockefeller helped bring Amazon to West Virginia in 2000.
