It's responsible for 40 percent of the Ohio's fatal crashes in 2011. The Ohio State Highway Patrol warns drivers, if you choose to drive impaired, you will be arrested.
Troopers say they have arrested 500 more drivers for O-V-I in the past three months, than during the same time last year, but they do say fatal crashes are down 28 percent.
"So that's pretty significant, every one of those drivers we can remove from the road way can make a difference. It could be your family, your community, your husband or wife," explains OSHP's Lt. Mary Pfeifer.
The OSHP says during January to April of 2011 the Marietta Post handled 19 impaired crashes, this year the area has seen 18. Troopers remind everyone to call pound-6-7-7 if they see any suspicious driving.
