She's running for secretary of state in the November general election.
Ohio Senator of the 25th District, Nina Turner visits Marietta.
There was a meet and greet Thursday night at the Knights of Columbus.
People had a chance to personally talk to Turner one on one.
Turner says her key platforms are expanding and protecting access to the ballot box and being a champion for small business, connecting them to government or private resources.
She says one of her goals is to visit every single county if elected.
"To sit down with BOE members on both sides, together because the thing that we have in common despite our political affiliation is that we're here for the voter. That once I win this office, my Democratic affiliation is no longer in play. I am pro voter," says Turner.
Turner supports the Supreme Court's decision to restore early in person absentee voting on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday before election Tuesday.
Turner says Ohioans have come to expect and enjoy access to the ballot box.
