UPDATE: Police Release Name of Person Killed in Monday Morning Accident

UPDATE 9/16/13 2:30 P.M.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol releases the name of the person killed in an accident Monday morning.

According to a media release, 55-year-old Robert Goodard, of Marietta, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Patrol says Goodard was driving a Suzuki Sidekick southbound on State Route 26 when he was hit by 23-year-old Zachary Dumas, of Marietta.

The Patrol says Dumas was driving a Ford Explorer northbound on State Route 26 when he went left of center.

Goodard's car spun and went off the right side of the road, where it was hit by a southbound GMC Envoy driven by Donald Duvall, of Marietta.

Dumas and Duvall were both released from Marietta Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were involved.

The patrol says all those involved were wearing seatbelts.

The accident remains under investigation.

One person is dead and two others in the hospital following a car accident Monday morning on State Route 26.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says there were three cars involved in the accident.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a person riding in a Suzuki was killed.

Two other people were taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Reno Volunteer Fire Department responded.

Neighbors say they woke up to the sound of the accident and this particular road makes them nervous to begin with.

OSHP Sgt. Fred Cook with reconstruction team from Cambridge was on scene Monday morning.

Troopers say the Suzuki was hit twice.

The accident is under investigation and the road is still closed.

Two other people were taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
