Parkersburg Stabbing

UPDATE: 10/21/2012 10:29 AM

Parkersburg Police say it happened around 3:00 Tuesday morning at Wild Suzie's Bar on 7th Street. Two men got into a fight inside the bar and one was stabbed twice.

Police say 23 year old William Bevans from Pennsylvania is the suspect. They say he stabbed 22 year old Parkersburg resident Richard Swiger once under his right arm and once on his neck.

Swiger was taken to Camden Clark Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Police arrested Bevans as he was trying to climb a fence and run away, but police say he was too intoxicated and didn't make it far. Bevans is charged with felony malicious assault. No word on why the fight started in the first place.

A stabbing in downtown Parkersburg puts one man in the hospital and another in the back seat of a police cruiser. Very few details are available at this point, but according to the police scanner, one man was stabbed multiple times on Seventh Street around 3:00am this morning. The man was transported to Camden Clark Medical Center. Another man was handcuffed at the scene and taken away in a Parkersburg Police cruiser.

enforcement on these places needs to stepped up.I've call MOV health dept. twice in last month about the bar right down the street from here(behind KFC) for allowing smoking. The bartenders even smoke and ashtrays set out on bar.Go there tonight and its still going on.

I'm guessing that the people of this bar has forced you to walk in? I really don't know. As for me if I don't approve of a way a place does business I choose not to go back.

And you don't have a choice as to whether or not to patronize that establishment? I have an idea. If it bothers you that much, DON'T GO!!

Im sure if you close wild Susie's all the people who went there will quit drinking and become model citizens. Get real!! Shutting that hole down will just cause that clientele to move elsewhere mabee J.P. Henreys.

Ok I'm just a nobody here but why do police officers get the blame for people being stupid? I was involved in an armed robbery a while back and PPD did an amazing job.

Another question i have same area different question. When i moved to Pkbg area 18 yrs ago i was told that i couldn't even have an open beer in my hand in view of the street.Which i usually did when mowing or just settn on my front porch. But if you drive up or down the lower end of Lynn stree, between 13th and 7th,anytime day or night. You see people drinking right in the street ,people passed out on thier front pourches etc...how is that legal?? And aren't these some of the same people who frequent those local establishments? One man in particular is constantly obviously very drunk and usually half dressed with beer in hand on his front steps everyday all day??? At times he has others with him but usually alone.....sad very sad.... Makes the good people trying to live in that area look horrible. And i'm sure there are some hard working and good people living there!!

I was in this alternative bar down on 5th street with some friends... I want to say it was called Cripples but i'm sure that's not right. Anyways a regular in there had a knife on him and he was really drunk. It scared me so that we left.

Maybe it's time council takes notice. Maybe they need to make new rules closing bars down at midnight.

Yeah, good luck with that. State law mandates when the bars are allowed to open and when they should close. Council tries to set city ordinances dictating that these establishments close at midnight, they'll cause a riot. Plus, there are several bars outside of city limits over which the council has no control, and there are still plenty of problems at those places also. Making bars close earlier will do nothing to solve the issues seen on 7th St.

This place has been a nuisance for several years, nothing but Trouble no matter what the name its under,it needs shut down!! From serving intoxicated patrons who drive, bar fights and stabbings, enough is enough. The ABCC needs to step in and close this so called business!!!
