Soon Parkersburg is going to look a whole lot smoother -- the streets that is.
Mayor Bob Newell says for the third year in a row a million dollars was budgeted for street resurfacing.
Kelly Paving is the successful bidder for the project.
Milling which takes up the old blacktop starts July 15th and paving will be done shortly thereafter.
Streets are picked based on need and traffic volume.
"The streets in all nine districts, it's all over town so people will see, first of all in the early stages they're going to see a lot of milling," Newell says. "So they need to drive slow on that, but then in short order they'll see a lot of new pavement down as well."
Whole streets will be completed all at once making for a smoother ride and a better look for the city.
