The partial, temporary closure of Putnam Street in Marietta is extended through Wednesday.
The city now says the 300 block of Putnam between the alley and the intersection of 3rd Street will remain closed until 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 9.
That section of the road was shut down at 8 a.m. Tuesday, April 8 for the installation of new fiber optic cable.
The road was to reopen by the end of the day Tuesday, but more time is needed for brick street repairs.
Drivers will need to take another route.
The sidewalks will be open to foot traffic.
