A Meigs County grand jury indicts a man accused of killing a West Virginia teenager.

Ernest Roach is indicted on charges of murder, compelling prostitution, tampering with evidence and gross abuse of a corpse.

He is accused in the death of 16-year-old Ericka Brown, whose body was found last month along the Ohio River in Portland.

Police say the two met on the internet.

Roach faces 15 years to life on the murder charge alone.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A man accused of killing a West Virginia teenager will return to Ohio to face a murder charge.

Media outlets report that 36-year-old Ernest Roach of Racine, Ohio, waived extradition during a hearing Tuesday in Kanawha County Circuit Court in West Virginia.

The body of 16-year-old Erika Brown of Cross Lanes, West Virginia, was found along the banks of the Ohio River in Meigs County, Ohio, earlier this month. She had been reported missing on Aug. 10.

Police say Roach met Brown on the Internet.

New details about a body found over the weekend in Meigs County.

Investigators say the victim - 16-year-old Ericka Brown - met her killer on Craigslist.

Documents show Brown posted ads on the site, saying she'd do anything for money.

Investigators say 36-year-old Ernest Roach admits to meeting her more than once for sex, eventually killing her.

Aside from the murder charges we told you about earlier this week, Roach faces federal charges for traveling across state lines to pay for sex.

Those alone could put him behind bars for 30 years.

Investigators say Brown's body was found along the Ohio River Saturday in Portland.

Her body was wrapped-up in a tarp with a cinder block tied to it.

She'd been missing since August 10th.

The Meigs County Sheriff's Office says a body found Saturday is that of a teen missing from Kanawha County since August 10.

The sheriff's office says the body is that of 16-year-old Ericka Brown.

It was found along the Ohio River in Portland.

The people who found the body say it was wrapped up in a tarp with a cinder block tied to it.

The sheriff's office released the identity Monday afternoon.

Ernest Roach was arrested and faces murder charges.


Meigs Co. Sheriff's Office says a person of interest is in custody after authorities spent Saturday on the scene where a woman's body was found.

It happened around 11 a.m. along the Ohio River in Portland.

The sheriff's office hasn't released any further details.

The people who found the body say it was wrapped in a tarp with a cinder block tied to it.
