Serving the country is a family tradition for one local soldier. There's something special about coming home.
"When you have kids you always feel like something's missing when you're not around them".
Sergeant James Mckee surprised his kids at the reunion in the Columbus Airport by bringing their step sister along for his month long visit back home.
"I'm just glad to see my sister again," says McKee.
"Just really happy to get the family back together. It's been a long time".
"I miss him so much I draw pictures and send them to him".
McKee will go back to Afghanistan one more time at the end of summer.
But he says his heart is here at home.
"If I can leave my wife and kids alone and shes still doing it, it means you're a tight family".
The Marine says he's looking forward to going back to college on his return.
"Served my country now serve my community".
