Midkiff, W.Va. (AP) -- State police say a Lincoln County teenager was trying to beat a train across the tracks when his vehicle was hit, killing him.
The accident occurred Monday night on West Virginia Route 10 at the 9 mile crossing in Midkiff.
State police said Tuesday that the train hit a Chevy Blazer driven by the 16-year-old from Branchland as it was crossing the tracks. The victim's name hasn't been released.
The train's crew wasn't injured. There were no passengers in the Blazer.
