An Ohio truck driver is fortunate to be OK after the trailer he was towing collapsed.
It happened at about 11:30 Monday morning.
Crews were still working late Monday afternoon to clear the scene on Route 50 east, just before Marrtown Road.
The Wood County Sheriff's Office says the truck driver was driving on 50 headed for Maryland when his trailer collapsed down the middle.
The driver was able to pull over safely onto the shoulder.
Responders say the trailer was overloaded with two-by-fours.
"DOT keeps the trailers pretty safe on the highway," says Mike Pifer, from Pifer's Towing. "This one must have slipped by or something happened in between inspections."
Rain delayed crews from moving the trailer.
Responders used airbags to raise it while they emptied the cargo.
