Friday afternoon police responded to a burglary on the 3800 block of Liberty Street.

The homeowners arrived to find their door kicked in and thousand of dollars worth of property stolen.

Based on information from a tip, authorities searched an apartment on Liberty Street Friday night. There they found several stolen items from the burglary.

The investigation led police to a hotel in Mineral Wells. Several people were seen leaving a hotel room and getting in a car suspected in the burglary.

Six people were detained for questioning.

Early Saturday morning detectives searched the hotel room and found more stolen property.

Monday police arrested Dustin Kinney and Casey Hornbeck with one count each of felony burglary.

"It's a very substantial home burglary. The difference in this case was we had some physical evidence at the scene. We had a good tip, or some good solid information that kind of pointed us in the right direction of where to start looking. The rest was really good investigative work by our crew," says Parkersburg Police Department Sergeant Greg Collins.

Kinney and Hornbeck each failed to post their $60,000 bond. Both are in the North Central Regional Jail.

Police say they expect more arrests within a few days.

90% of the stolen property has been returned.
