A Vincent man dies Saturday after driving off the road in Dunham.
It happened on Route 339 near 339 Auto Sales around 1:10 p.m.
State troopers say 65-year-old Jerry Cornell was driving south on 339 in his 1977 Chevrolet pick-up truck when he drove off the road, first hitting a traffic sign and then an embankment.
Cornell was not wearing a seatbelt. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The use of a safety belt is going to help prevent you from being injured or possibly killed and that's why we encourage people to wear them. This particular crash, the gentleman wasn't wearing his safety belt. Had he been wearing it, it might have very well prevented it from being a fatal crash," said Sgt. Michael Seabolt of Ohio State Highway Patrol.
State troopers continue to investigate. The Washington Co. Sheriff's Office, Dunham Volunteer Fire and Little Hocking Volunteer Fire also responded.
