MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - West Virginia University's fall enrollment has set a record at 29,706. That's 90 more students than last year.
WVU said Monday that its campus is also becoming more diverse.
There's been an 11.3 percent increase in international students this year, or about 167 more. And the number of black students rose by 9.4 percent, or 101 students.
President Jim Clements says there's also been a 1.6 percent increase in graduate enrollment, or an additional 52 students.
Enrollment at the struggling WVU Institute of Technology in Montgomery is down 209 students from last year, largely because the football team was eliminated.
In Keyser, Potomac State College of WVU lost 19 students but still has its largest-ever freshman class with 729.
Overall, enrollment at the three campuses is nearly 32,600.
